Committee of Ministers to decide on the 3rd Summit
[07/07/04]
At their meeting on 8 July 2004, the Ministers' Deputies will resume their discussion of the holding in Warsaw in the spring of 2005 of a 3rd Summit of Heads of State and Government, with a view to deciding on a date. They will also review current political questions, particularly the accession of Monaco to the Council of Europe and relations between the Council of Europe and Belarus. They will be given information about the visits to Luxembourg, Denmark and Sweden made by the Commissioner for Human Rights, as well as about the preparations for the 50th anniversary celebration for the European Cultural Convention at the end of this year. Committee of Ministers supervises execution of Court's judgments
[07/07/04] On 6 July 2004, the Committee of Ministers supervised the execution of the judgments of the European Court of Human Rights especially the payment of just satisfaction in some 516 cases, the adoption - in some 31 cases - of other more important individual measures and the adoption of general measures in some 41 cases. The Committee furthermore started examining 46 new judgments of the Court and considered 20 draft final resolutions concluding that States have complied with the Court's judgments. (more ...)
